As his prize for achieving third place in this years Devon Life home cook of the year competition, Martin Loader spent last Saturday in our Exeter showroom learning the latest patisserie skills from Sylvain Peltier. Sylvain spent 10 years working as head pastry chef with Michael Caines at the two Michelin-starred Gidleigh Park, and together, they are now launching a new range of exquisite French patisseries with a new venture; ‘Peltier & Caines French Patisserie’.
Martin and Sylvain had a great day; Martin found it very informative and was pleased to learn lots of new skills and tricks of the trade from Sylvain. The end results were delicious and looked absolutely fantastic. Together they made chocolate and salted caramel tarts, apple crunch with vanilla Chantilly, raspberry, lime and Tonka tarts, and vanilla mille-feuille.
Keep an eye out for Sylvain and Michaels new venture and you’ll be able to taste these delicious desserts for yourself.
