We were delighted to welcome Devon Life Home Cook of the Year 2016 finalist Karen Walker to our Exeter showroom on Saturday, as she enjoyed a day of Patisserie tuition from the very talented Sylvain Peltier, as part of her prize.
It was very interesting for us to see the amount of care, attention and skill that goes into the process. Sylvain even brought along his record player to show us how to create the wonderful swirls for his chocolate and vanilla tarts. Head over to our Facebook page to see a video of this in action!
Together, they created four beautiful looking desserts; a Lemon Mirror glaze, Mille-feuilles, a Chocolate and Vanilla tart with chocolate Tonka beans and Chantilly cream, and a Mango and Passion fruit tart. Karen picked up lots of tips and learned some great new skills from Sylvain, and we got to taste the delicious results! Don’t they look wonderful.
